How to keep your pet safe

Cats and dogs are lost all the time because of a reason that is simple: They leave our houses. Accidentally. We don’t know what transpired to them, but they have been missing for some time now. Make sure your pet is kept inside. Keep your pets inside if you have to take them outside.

What can cause pets to become lost?

Pets get lost for many reasons. Sometimes, they’re curious and want to explore the world around them. Sometimes, they wander out of sight because you let them go without having a leash.

Pets can wander off so make sure to mark your pet’s name and address in the event that they are lost. If you do not want to take your pet outdoors, make sure they are inside an enclosed area like the kennel or carrier.

If your cat is seen getting outside the house, it’s considered lost. You should keep your cat in the house at all times. Your cat’s friends may visit however, they might not be able locate the food or litter box. It is advised to lock the doors whenever possible.

Your pets are protected at home

Do not keep your doors unlocked long enough as it can lead to injury. For instance your cat will need daily clean water and nutritious food day. Since they are living beings, they cannot live without them.

Pets are unable to communicate with each other and are able to fight back against any trying to hurt them. Make sure to keep your pets within at all times! It is safer for your pet be kept inside.

If you must go outside with your pet ensure that it’s put in the pet’s carrier that has air holes to stop suffocation. Do not forget their address! So, if they are lost, shelters will be able to find their address.

The same crate can be used for both dogs and cats. However, they should not get in each others way. If you’d like to utilize different cages for your pets, put the cat in its pet’s own carrier with air holes below it. It is suggested that you choose a heavier-duty pet carrier in case your pet is big or strong (like German Shepherds) as lightweight carriers can harm easily. Do not leave too many animals inside one cage because they might hurt each other!

It’s not a good idea to tie your pet up for long periods of time. If you’re taking your pet out, put a leash to ensure they don’t wander off! If you have friends coming over and you want to know if they are interested in visiting your pet ahead of time. While you chat about your pet and inquire about their needs, you can give them snacks or beverages. Remember to stay with your pet!
